CCT Installation, Usage, and ...

CCT is a set of tools to typeset Chinese document using TeX.

Install CCT
1. Get the source package from ftp://ftp.cc.ac.cn/pub/cct/src/
2. Modify Makefile, append ``-L/usr/freeware/lib32 '' before ``-lkpathsea''
3. switch to root and run ``gmake prefix=/usr/local install_root=/ install''
4. rehash and run ``cctinit''. This will generate .tfm files for CCT.
5. ``cp /usr/local/share/texmf/tex/cct/* ~/localtexmf/tex/cct/''
6. ``chown ymeng ~/localtexmf/tex/cct/*''
7. ``cp /usr/local/share/texmf/fonts/tfm/cct/* ~/localtexmf/fonts/tfm/cct/''
8. ``chown ymeng ~/localtexmf/fonts/tfm/cct/*''
9. ``texhash''
Use CCT in plain TeX
1. If you have configured dvipdfmx with TrueType Chinese fonts successfully, it is just trivia to typeset Chinese in plain TeX using CCT.
2. This following example says it all
```
	\let\CCTCJKfonts=1
	\input CCT.sty
	\songti 这是宋体字。

	\heiti 这是黑体字。

	{\kaishu\zihao{4} 这是楷书字。}
	
	\fangsong 这是仿宋字。
	\vfill\bye			
			
```
3. ``tex cct'' followed by ``dvipdfmx cct''
4. This is the output cct.pdf.
The above installation allow you to use various CCT programs, e.g., cct, cctspace, ..., to typeset as well. But if you already have LaTeX-CJK installed and only want to use CCT with CJK fonts. Then the following files are enough.
1. cchead.sty
2. CCT.cfg
3. CCT.sty
4. ccdummy.tfm
5. ccfntg.tfm
6. cct.dat
7. gbkdef.tbl
I've included the whole CCT style files and font files here. You need to extract the files under your local texmf directory, refresh file name database, and you are set.
